Dr. John Seibyl
Dr. John Seibyl, MD serves as Chairman of the Board, President of the Institute, Co-Benefactor and Senior Scientist. Dr. Seibyl trained as a post-doctoral fellow in Psychiatry and Nuclear Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine and served as Chief of the Section of Nuclear Medicine at Yale. He then went on to co-found, the non-profit Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders where he is currently Board Chairman and Distinguished Scientist. He is also the co-founder of Molecular Neuroimaging, LLC now Invicro, LLC, a Konica-Minolta Company. Dr. Seibyl has won numerous grants and contracts in the context of his work in brain imaging, publishing over 250 articles, book chapters, and case reports. Peter Schuller
Prior to becoming a complexity scientist, Peter Schuller practiced law and investment banking, then became a management consultant and served as a senior corporate executive for a public company. In 2007, he left corporate America and founded the Institute for Applied Theology and Science, where he spent five years researching select topics in neuroscience, complexity science, information theory, and network science.
In 2012, Peter turned his research toward innovation, designing “Knowledge Networks” and sharing his insights in his book, The New World of Networked Thinking. Most recently, Peter joined the Center for Integrative Research as a Senior Fellow and has worked exclusively on developing the discipline of “brain systems science”.
Peter brings a global perspective to his work, having grown up in Beirut, Lebanon, and traveled to over 40 countries. His cross-cultural experiences have informed his unique approach to systems science and his passion for using brain systems science to develop new perspectives on the challenges of 21st century life.
